The Orliman Immobilizing Hand/Wrist Splint in Functional Position is made of thermoplastic, made up of two parts (forearm and palmar area of the hand) that are connected by a joint in the wrist area, which allows adjustment of the palm of the hand as well as the dorsal flexion of the orthosis, limiting some movements of the wrist joint or immobilizing it in a defined position.
There is also the possibility of the orthosis being molded to the patient s size, this process requires using a hot air gun.
Indications:
- All types of pre- and postoperative treatments that require functional support or immobilization of the wrist, such as carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic polyarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
- It is also indicated in situations of central or peripheral neurological damage (spasmodic and flaccid paralysis), in the treatment for the prevention of rheumatoid deformities, as well as to relieve pain and also in anti-inflammatory treatment.
Measurements to be determined: Width of the hand, below the line of fingers.
Determine: Left or right hand.
