Safix Plus is suitable for the application of circular plasters, crevices and external immobilization. Safix Plus consists of natural gypsum (CaSO4-1/2 H2O) and a cotton backing material. The uniform application of the plaster ensures rapid moisture penetration, excellent malleability and modelability.
Safix plus plaster bandages are designed for splints as well as for external immobilization with bandage application techniques circular plasters.
Composition:
- The plaster bandage Safix plus is composed of natural plaster (CaSO4.½ H2O) and support material in special cotton fabric.
Intended use:
- Safix plus are single-use, non-sterile, plaster bandages and plaster of Paris plasters for short- and long-term treatment by external immobilization in human beings, with techniques for applying circular plastered bandages, and for splints, used by health professionals in a clinical environment and applied in combination with products used as bases.
How to apply:
- Safix plus is activated by immersing it in water for about 3 seconds at approximately 20 °C (it is possible to cut the product before submerging it in water).
- It should then be well twisted and molded immediately. Molding time is approximately 2 to 4 minutes. Plaster casts and Safix plus splint bandages can withstand light loads after 30 minutes. After 12-24 hours, the product will be completely solidified, depending on the number of layers applied.
- Completely protect the area of the body to be treated with suitable padding material (synthetic padding, tubular bandage, foam).
Special precautions:
During the solidification of Safix plus, a level of heat tolerated by the patient is released, if the instructions for use have been followed.
There is a danger of burns due to excessive heat release under the following circumstances:
- water temperature greater than 27 °C during immersion.
- bandage applied too dry.
- plaster with multiple layers.
- Obstruction of air circulation during solidification by covering with a towel and other material.
Be aware of these situations! Avoid any coverage! Only for use on intact skin.
